Mahindra & Mahindra is gearing up to launch the much-awaited 5-door iteration of its popular SUV, the Thar, on August 15, 2024. Dubbed as the ‘Thar Roxx’, the SUV has created significant buzz around its arrival and the manufacturer has lately been drip-teasing us with the glimpses of the model. The latest teaser image shared by the company has now revealed the front fascia of the SUV.Here, let’s take a look at what to expect from the Thar Roxx.

Mahindra Thar Roxx: Design

In the latest teaser image, the Thar Roxx reveals a series of striking upgrades that set it apart from its three-door sibling. One of the biggest highlights is the introduction of a new six-vertical double-slat grille, which appears to have enhanced its rugged and bold appearance.
The fascia is further refined with circular headlamps that now incorporate LED projectors and distinctive C-shaped integrated DRLs, giving the vehicle a modern edge. While the fog lights and turn indicators remain at the same positions, they have been redesigned to be sleeker and more streamlined. Additional updates include dual-tone ORVMs, a silver bumper, and more are also visible.

Mahindra Thar Roxx: Features

The Mahindra Thar is expected to offer a host of premium features, including a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a digital driver’s display of similar size, a panoramic sunroof, automatic climate control, and a Harman Kardon sound system. On the safety front, the Thar is anticipated to include six airbags, electronic stability control (ESC), a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), hill hold and descent control, and a 360-degree camera. It may also feature ADAS tech like adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, and autonomous emergency braking and more.

Mahindra Thar Roxx: Engine

Mahindra is likely to equip the Thar Roxx with a choice of three engines: the existing 2.0-litre turbo petrol, the 2.2-litre diesel, and a new 1.5-litre diesel engine. These engine options will be paired with both manual and automatic transmission choices. As with the three-door variant, the Thar Roxx will feature standard rear-wheel drive and a 4WD setup
