The film opened with Rs 1.15 crore on Friday, followed by Rs 1.90 crore on Saturday and Rs 2.15 crore on Sunday. While the weekend offered some hope, the weekday figures reflect a significant drop, making it uncertain whether Ground Zero will cross the Rs 10 crore mark before the week wraps up.
The film, which released last Friday, opened to a positive response from both critics and audiences, especially for its gripping storyline and powerful performances. It had a decent opening weekend, and while the weekdays have seen a natural dip, the numbers indicate a stable hold rather than a sharp drop, a promising sign for any mid-budget film.
‘Ground Zero’ hit the box office with limited buzz and opened to a lukewarm response from audiences. As expected with most films, its earnings declined on Monday. However, since the film was already recording modest numbers, the dip was more noticeable.
Directed by Tejas Prabha Vijay Deoskar, ‘Ground Zero’ is based on the real-life 2003 counter-terrorism operation that led to the elimination of Ghazi Baba, the mastermind behind the 2001 Parliament and Akshardham attacks. Emraan Hashmi in the lead role, delivers a performance that has been appreciated by critics and audiences alike.
