Fans were excited about the possibility of Kartik Aaryan and Triptii Dimri reuniting in Aashiqui 3 after their success in Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3. There was a lot of buzz when Dimri took part in look tests and the mahurat shot.
However, director Anurag Basu recently confirmed that Triptii would not be in the film, though he didn’t explain why. He has now responded to reports suggesting she was dropped because she wasn’t right for the role.
There were rumours that Triptii was removed from Aashiqui 3 because her bold scenes in Animal made her seem too ‘exposed’ for the romantic drama, which was said to need a more innocent and pure portrayal of its female lead.However, the director cleared the air in an interview with Mid-day, saying that the rumors weren’t true and that Triptii was aware of that.
The makers of Aashiqui 3 are currently searching for a replacement for Triptii Dimri. The film is expected to begin shooting in January or early February.
The actress gained widespread recognition for her role in Ranbir Kapoor’s Animal, though she faced criticism for her intimate scenes in the film. In a previous interview on Ranveer Allahbadia’s podcast, she revealed the emotional impact of the backlash. She admitted to crying for two to three days, as she wasn’t prepared for such harsh criticism and was taken aback by the negative comments.
On the work front, Triptii Dimri is currently shooting for Vishal Bhardwaj’s Arjun Ustara. She also has Dhadak 2, produced by Karan Johar, lined up for release.
