Anil Kapoor expresses joy as ‘The Night Manager’ bags the nomination at Emmy Awards 2024: ‘I just couldn’t believe it’
It’s exciting news for the makers of the series ‘The Night Manager‘ as the crime-thriller has been nominated for the International Emmy Awards 2024. The series starred iconic actors like Anil Kapoor, Shobhita Dhulipala, Aditya Roy Kapur in the key roles. On September 19, the International Academy of Television Arts & Sciences revealed the nominees for the next honors.
Anil Kapoor who portrayed the role of Shailendra Rungta aka Shelly an arms dealer shown in the series has responded to nomination for this year’s Emmy Awards in the Best Drama Series category.Calling it a ‘fantastic news’, Anil told NDTV, “I just couldn’t believe it. I called Sandeep (Sandeep Modi, the director) and the entire team. We were messaging each other.” He further added that the team was excited after the news was out.
Just after the nominations were announced, director Sandeep Modi dropped an Instagram story a while ago and wrote, “In tears of disbelief and joy. Thank you team. Thank you, God” followed by folded hands emoji.
In addition to ‘The Night Manager’, several other series have also been nominated in the Best Drama Series category at this year’s International Emmy Awards which includes Les Gouttes de Dieu [Drops of God] (France), The Newsreader – Season 2 (Australia), and Iosi, El Espia Arrepentido – Season 2 (Argentina).
There are 56 nominees in total, across 14 categories and 21 countries, according to the official website. On November 25, 2024, in New York City, the 52nd International Emmy Awards winners will be revealed.
