Aamir Khan explains Nana Patekar why he calls himself ‘indisciplined’: ‘I would drink all night’ |
Aamir Khan, who was recently promoting his film Laapataa Ladies for the Oscars, shared that he gave up drinking some time ago because he used to drink a lot. However, he still smokes a pipe. In a conversation with Nana Patekar, Aamir admitted that his biggest struggle in his career is his lack of discipline. He explained that while he is very disciplined with his films, he tends to be an “extremist” in other areas of his life.
When Nana Patekar questioned Aamir about his discipline, particularly in terms of punctuality on set, Aamir confirmed that he is always on time for his shoots. However, he admitted that while he is disciplined about his work, he struggles with discipline in his personal life. Aamir also confessed to being “very lazy” and mentioned that although he has quit drinking, he used to drink heavily in the past, often drinking all night. He added that he still smokes a pipe.
The superstar further explained that his biggest issue is being an extremist, meaning once he starts something, he continues with it despite knowing it’s not good for him. He acknowledged his inability to stop, even when aware of the harm. However, he emphasized that he doesn’t have such issues while working on films, as he remains “sharply disciplined.” Nana suggested that Aamir should stay constantly busy, to which Aamir shared his decision to do one film a year, as he typically only works on one every three years.
Meanwhile, on the work front, Aamir will soon be seen in Sitaare Zameen Par, set to release in 2025. He is also producing Lahore 1947, starring Sunny Deol, Ek Din, featuring his son Junaid Khan and Sai Pallavi, and a film with Vir Das, which will be written and directed by the comedian.
