Apoorva Mukhija aka 'Rebel Kid' says she's never seen struggle in Mumbai, she paid rent for her 2BHK house from money earned from social media

Apoorva Mukhija aka the ‘Rebel Kid’ who was last seen in ‘The Traitors’ recently appeared on Farah Khan’s Youtube channel for her cooking show. Apoorva is known for her candidness and has just started afresh after the whole controversy around Samay Raina’s show ‘India’s Got Latent’. Apoorva moved to Mumbai at the age of 21 but she told Farah that she has never seen any struggle. She said that she has always lived in a 2BHK home here and paid her rent by herself. The episode kicked off with a classic Farah-Dilip moment. Farah’s beloved house help and now full-time entertainer, Dilip, took on the role of hype man and unofficial tour guide. With a smirk and signature sass, he described the celebrity home as a “gareeb ka ghar” (a poor man’s house), instantly earning a wide-eyed glare and a loud laugh from Farah. As Apoorva settled in, the conversation got real. From growing up in Kurukshetra, moving to Noida, and eventually landing in Mumbai at 21, Apoorva recounted her journey with refreshing honesty. Farah, always the curious host, asked if Apoorva faced any classic Mumbai-style struggle stories. “Not really. I always lived in a 2 BHK here,” Apoorva replied, to which a surprised Farah asked if her family chipped in with the rent. “No, I did it all by myself,” Apoorva said proudly, earning an enthusiastic high-five from Farah. “Aapko toh pata hi hai, YouTube se kitne paise aate hai,” she added cheekily, referring to the healthy income from content creation. She also revealed that before controversies began swirling around her name—particularly the one involving Samay Raina and Ranveer Allahbadia—she had shot both her Netflix film Nadaaniyan and The Traitors. Post that, however, the offers dried up. “After that, no one’s offered me work. You’re the first one to invite me home,” she told Farah, half-joking, half-serious.Later, while the duo stirred up some Afghani eggs in the kitchen, a casual chat turned into an unexpected confession. “Mere paas driver nahi hai, gaadi nahi hai, ghar nahi hai,” Apoorva admitted. She had to vacate her earlier home following the controversy and is currently staying in a rented space.Hearing this, Farah looked over at Dilip—who had just roasted their own home’s simplicity—and quipped, “See how rich we are! This is the first time we’re saying that. Usually, we keep saying hum log kitne gareeb hai.”
