BPSC 70th CCE Prelims 2024: Exam won’t be canceled, says commission—What unfolded on December 13?
The Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) has clarified that it will not cancel the 70th Integrated Combined (Preliminary) Competitive Examination (CCE) 2024, as reported by PTI. The examination was conducted on December 13, and since then, several candidates have been protesting, alleging that the question paper was leaked.
The Bihar Public Service Commission examination controller Rajesh Kumar Singh said, “There is no question of cancelling the entire BPSC exam held on December 13. The BPSC decided to cancel the preliminary examination held at Bapu Pariskha Parisar centre only due to disruption created by a group of unruly aspirants as part of the conspiracy to disrupt the exam,’ as reported by PTI.
He further added that the commission had learned about a group of private coaching institutes instigating aspirants and mobilizing them to demand the cancellation of the entire exam.
Several candidates have been protesting demanding the cancellation of the BPSC 70th CCE over an alleged paper leak. On Wednesday, December 25, police baton-charged the protesters after some of them broke past barricades and disrupted traffic near the BPSC office in Patna.
“Despite repeated requests by the security personnel, they refused to vacate the road. It is a restricted area where protests are not allowed. Finally, mild force, including baton charge was used to disperse the protesters,” said Patna Senior Superintendent of Police Rajeev Mishra, as reported by PTI.
On one hand, the protesters claimed that two to three people were injured in the baton charge, while the police denied these allegations.
Several political leaders have also shown their support to the candidates demanding the cancellation of the examination.
