Kia Syros: Variant-wise features, engine options explained
Kia India recently revealed the new Kia Syros compact SUV in the Indian market. The new Syros is the second sub-compact SUV after Sonet by Kia in India and will go on sale in 2025. The prices for the new model will be announced in January at the upcoming Bharat Mobility Show. The company will start accepting bookings on January 3, 2025, and the deliveries will begin on February 2025.
The Syros is offered with two engine options – a 1.0-litre, 3-cylinder, turbo-petrol which puts out 120hp of power and 172Nm torque. It comes paired with either a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed DCT. Another engine is a 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder, turbo diesel with 115hp of power and 250Nm torque. It comes paired with either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed torque converter automatic.
Talking about the variants, the Syros is offered in six variants – HTK, HTK (O), HTK Plus, HTX, HTX Plus and HTX Plus (O). The compact SYF is offered in eight colour options – Frost blue, Glacier White Pearl, Sparkling Silver, Intense Red, Imperial Blue, Pewter Olive, Gravity Grey and Aurora Black Pearl. Kia Syros HTK
The HTK is the entry-level trim of the Syros and is offered only with a 1.0-litre turbo petrol. It gets features such as halogen headlamps, 15-inch steel wheels with covers, flush-fitting door handles, and a shark fin antenna. Its interior features a black and grey dual-tone design with semi-leatherette seats. It comes with a 4.2-inch MID, a 12.3-inch HD touchscreen, and a 4-speaker audio system that supports wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, steering wheel-mounted audio controls, a rear-view camera with dynamic guidelines enhance convenience, Type-C USB chargers (two each at the front and rear), a tilt-adjustable steering wheel, illuminated power windows on all doors, and a centre console with an armrest and cup holders. The rear has a bench-type seat, while the front passenger seat offers an adjustable headrest. The vehicle also includes a remote key with central locking, a day and night interior rear-view mirror (IRVM), electrically adjustable outside rear-view mirrors (ORVMs), manual air conditioning, rear AC vents, and rear door sunshade curtains.
Kia Syros HTK (O)
Next comes the HTK (O) which is offered with both a 1.0-litre turbo petrol or a 1.5-litre turbo diesel and gets all the features mentioned above. Additionally, it gets an electric sunroof, roof rails, 16-inch alloy wheels for the diesel variant and 15-inch steel wheels with full covers for the petrol variant. The driver seat offers height adjustment for added comfort, while the electrically adjustable ORVMs include auto-fold functionality and integrated turn signals. Additionally, the audio system is enhanced with 2 tweeters for better sound quality.
Kia Syros HTK Plus
Next comes HTK Plus which is offered with both a 1.0-litre turbo petrol with MT/DCT and a 1.5-litre turbo diesel with MT/AT. Features include The car features 16-inch alloy wheels and a dual-pane panoramic sunroof, complemented by a stylish Cloud Blue and Grey dual-tone interior with Mint Green accents and semi-leatherette seats. Keyless entry with a push-button start/stop, remote driver door window up/down, paddle shifters, rear disc brakes, follow-me-home headlamps, and drive modes (Eco, Normal, Sport) are exclusive to the petrol-DCT variant. The rear seats offer a 60:40 split with slide and recline functionality, along with adjustable headrests, a rear centre armrest with cup holders, and a rear parcel shelf. Additional features include driver one-touch auto up/down windows, cruise control, traction control modes (Sand, Mud, Snow), and a front centre armrest with a retractable cup holder available only in the manual transmission variant.
Kia Syros HTX
Next comes HTX which is offered with both a 1.0-litre turbo petrol with MT/DCT and a 1.5-litre turbo diesel with MT/AT. It gets LED headlamps, daytime running lights, and tail-lamps, Cloud Blue and Grey leatherette seats, along with a dual-tone leatherette-wrapped steering wheel and gear knob, remote window up/down functionality, front ventilated seats, a rear wiper and washer, and one-touch auto up/down for all windows. Additionally, the petrol-DCT variant includes an electric parking brake with auto-hold functionality.
Kia Syros HTX plus
Next comes HTX Plus which is offered with both a 1.0-litre turbo petrol with MT/DCT and a 1.5-litre turbo diesel with MT/AT. Features include 17-inch alloy wheels and puddle lamps featuring Kia logo projection, dual-tone interiors with Matte Orange accents and dual-tone grey leatherette seats, 64-colour ambient lighting, a 12.3-inch HD MID, a 5-inch touchscreen for climate control, and an 8-speaker Harman Kardon audio system, Kia Connect 2.0 in-car connectivity suite, OTA software updates, and Kia remote diagnostics ensure advanced technological integration. Additional features include an air purifier with an AQI display, a smart dashcam with dual cameras and mobile app integration, rear ventilated seats, an automatic day/night IRVM, a smartphone wireless charger, and a four-way powered driver seat adjust for maximum comfort and ease.
Kia Syros HTX plus (O)
Next comes HTX plus (O), which gets Level 2 ADAS, front and rear parking sensors, a 360-degree camera and a blind spot monitor.
