Kia Syros teased again: New design details revealed
Kia India is all set to globally reveal the new Kia Syros compact SUV on 19 December. The new Syros will sit in between the Sonet and Seltos. It will be showcased to public at upcoming Bharat Mobility expo, the price announcement too is expected to take place at the same time. Potential rivals for the new Syros include the Skoda Kylaq, Nissan Magnite, Renault Kiger, Maruti Fronx, Toyota Taisor and other similarly priced SUVs.
The company has been releasing teasers with each teaser revealing the features of the upcoming Kia Syros SUV. The company has now released another teaser that reveals key design details of the Syros.
At the front, it features vertically stacked cubical-shaped LED headlamps with DRLs similar to what we’ve seen in the new Carnival. On the side, it features a distinctive styling with van like design and it also features a blacked-out C-pillar, creating a seamless, connected appearance between the rear doors and the quarter panel. A few highlights include flush-fitting door handles, squared-off wheel arches and roof rails.
Moving inside, it gets a large touchscreen infotainment system, a new aircraft throttle-like gear shifter, and push-button start/stop. It also features a newly designed 2-spoke steering wheel which houses controls for drive and terrain modes, a wireless charging pad, a panoramic sunroof, and multiple Type-C USB ports. It will feature a multi-layer dashboard theme and it also houses a separate button for the camera, physical controls for frequently operated functions and the touchscreen infotainment system is expected to be 10.25 inches in measurement.

There are no details on the powertrain, it’s expected that it will be shared with the Sonet which includes a 1.2-litre NA petrol, 1.0-litre turbo petrol and a 1.5-litre diesel. Gearbox options will include a 5-speed manual, 6-speed manual, IMT, AT and DCT. Potential rivals include the Skoda Kylaq, Nissan Magnite, Renault Kiger, Maruti Fronx, Toyota Taisor and other similarly priced SUVs.
